For over 20 years, the Junior League of North Harris and South Montgomery Counties, Inc. (JLNHSMC) has been making a difference. We are proud to have 500 women that are committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving our communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
Our organization was founded in 1983 as the Junior Service League of North Houston, Inc. and became a Junior League in February of 1990-joining the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. with 292 other Leagues throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Great Britain. This League year, we will celebrate our 21st Anniversary as a Junior League and 28 years of service in our community serving the North Houston suburban area. Our League has invested $4.0 million in the community through volunteer hours and direct financial support.

The support of the fundraisers, community donors, community partners and the members are the key to the success of this League and give us the necessary tools to fulfill the mission.  One of our largest fundraisers is the Junior League Holiday Market held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center every year in November. We hope you enjoy shopping each year at this wonderful event that helps us give back to the community. Our League is famous for our award winning cookbook, Texas Ties, which celebrates how food connects us to our unique family traditions. In the fall of 2009, we launched another fabulous cookbook, Texas Tables, with over 240 proven recipes from members, friends, and several local celebrity chefs. Texas Tables is sure to be another award winning cookbook for our League!

Our JLNHSMC members have made the commitment to be a part of this organization that impacts our community each and every day.  I am honored to be a part of such a dynamic and dedicated group of women that tirelessly give from their hearts to serve others on behalf of the Junior League of North Harris and South Montgomery Counties, Inc. I look forward to the year ahead as we all strive to make a difference in the lives of women, children, and families within our community.
